YOUR BAND CARD · YOUR PLACE IN THE BBOC STORY
MORE THAN A PERFORMANCE
GET HEARD. GET BETTER.
BUILD SOMETHING TOGETHER.
MAKE YOUR MUSIC HEARD.
Give people a way to discover your original music. Put your performances in front of fans who watch and judge BATTLES, follow your band and come back for what you do next.
BUILD YOUR FOLLOWING.
Bring your classmates, friends and hometown into your corner. Your BAND CARD gives new fans a place to discover your music, follow your band and get to know the people behind it.
HONE YOUR SOUND.
Every BATTLE gives you another reason to rehearse, create and deliver. Learn from the scorecards, discover other bands and exchange ideas as you grow through the season. No weekly eliminations—keep building momentum.
BE PART OF THE STORY.
Share rehearsals, interviews and life behind the music. Your submitted footage may be selected for BBOC channels and the movie.
SANTA BARBARA · 2002
THESE BANDS WERE THERE.
NOW IT’S YOUR TURN.
Best Band On Campus began at UCSB. In 2002, ten bands came together for the live finals at Anisq’Oyo Park in Santa Barbara. These are photographs from the original BBOC archive—real bands, original music and a moment worth remembering.
Now the story reaches across America, with the road leading to Las Vegas. Your band could be part of its next chapter.
Your BAND signup process
From claiming your entry to telling your story and submitting your first BATTLE—follow these steps in order.
Pay and claim your entry
Anybody can start a $100 BAND entry. The payer receives a claim link by email and can use it or share it with a BAND member or organizer. Already paid? Use your claim email or request a setup link.
Build your BAND CARD
Add your photo, bio, sound, member introductions, and music and social links. Confirm the band name, primary campus and location during registration. Your BAND CARD introduces the band to the network.
Connect every MUSICIAN
The organizer invites each performer using the email they use for BBOC. Every performer accepts their invitation and completes their participation and eligibility details. A designated nonperforming organizer can manage the band without counting toward its performing roster.
Tell us why you are the Best Band On Campus
Introduce the band and its members. Show us your campus, your sound, what makes you different, and why you believe you are the Best Band On Campus. Share this introduction on your BAND Feed with your band name in the title. Add its video link to the Featured Video URL on your BAND CARD. Document your journey through rehearsals, campus life and behind-the-scenes footage. BBOC may select your footage for BBOC TV and the final movie. This introduction is separate from your judged BATTLE performance.
Complete eligibility and permissions
Your BAND needs at least two performers and at least one currently enrolled student at its primary accredited U.S. college. Complete requested eligibility details and participation terms; performers under 18 need guardian permission. Only submit footage and music you have permission to share. Finish BBOC review and the required roster setup before an official BATTLE upload opens.
Submit your first BATTLE performance
Prepare your original-song performance video. When your band is eligible and a submission window is open, the official performance-upload link appears in your private BAND setup page. Submit there—not as your introduction post—and check the submission status. Official BATTLE videos are judged through FAN scorecards.
The Road to Vegas
Check the live BATTLE SCHEDULE for each submission window and deadline. The weekly submission deadline is Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Pacific; FAN judging opens Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and closes Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Qualification requires 12 official BATTLES, with the best 10 scores counting. Eight eligible finalists advance to the two-night National Championship in Las Vegas.
Your story and your score are different: the introduction tells fans who you are; the official BATTLE performance is submitted separately for judging. Keep your private claim and roster links private.
WHAT YOUR BAND NEEDS
READY TO STEP IN?
- At least two registered performers, with at least one currently enrolled student at your primary accredited U.S. college or university.
- Original music for official judged BATTLE performances.
- Each performer’s own BBOC account, accepted roster invitation and required eligibility and rights confirmations.
- Guardian permission for performers under 18. A nonperforming organizer can help manage the band.
The $100 payment starts your entry. The payer receives an emailed claim link; a band member or organizer claims it and invites the performers. Once the roster is confirmed and BBOC approves the entry, the band can participate in official BATTLES.
Paying the entry fee does not buy points or advancement. FAN+ is optional support for BBOC and is not required to compete.
Entry and payment close January 24, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific.
Roster changes close February 28, 2027.
SOMEONE’S BAND IS GOING TO MAKE IT.
WHY NOT YOURS?
You’ve imagined what your band could become. Now give it a season, a community and a reason to keep reaching. Come in. Let people hear what you’ve got.
